Frequently Asked Questions

How are menus selected and how often do they change?

Each week your chef will email you a menu to review for the following week. If you wish, you can work with your chef to make changes or modifications to the menu.

Will I have the same chef each week?

Yes. After an initial call where we get details regarding your preferences, availability, etc., you will be matched with a chef that best fits your needs. If your chef has to take time off for any reason, we will inform you of this and ask if you prefer to have another chef fill in during that time.

Are you able to accommodate allergies, dietary restrictions and/or personal preferences?

Yes, all of the above! We can even put together meals that follow a specific diet plan.

How many meals will I get per week?

Our typical packages include 3 or 4 proteins and 3 or 4 side dishes. This averages out to about 4-5 meals for 3-4 people.

My kids don’t like what I eat – will your chef prepare separate meals for my kids or is that an additional cost?

We can always accommodate your little ones!

Will you prepare meals in my home or off-site?

We will do what works best for you. Our chefs can either come to your house and cook in your kitchen or prepare your meals off-site and deliver them to you.

What is your pricing structure? Do you charge by the hour, per meal, or offer package deals?

Our pricing starts at $375 per week, plus the cost of groceries. For more detailed pricing based on your individual needs, please contact us directly.

Are there additional costs for groceries, travel, delivery?

Our pricing includes meal planning, grocery shopping, cooking and clean-up. Groceries are billed separately at cost. Travel and delivery is free within NYC. All travel outside of NYC will incur a flat fee for travel starting at $100.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require cancellation at least 72 hours in advance. Any cancellations made in less then 72 hours may be subject to a 50% charge.

How are last minute changes to the menu or schedule handled?

We keep an open line of communication with our clients. We can typically handle last-minute requests and menu changes.

Do you cook large quantities weekly or single meals daily?

Our weekly service is typically one visit that leaves your fridge stocked for the whole week. Occasionally clients will opt for two visits per week.

Do you have insurance in case of accidents or foodborne illness?

We sure do.

What does Off the Line Chefs provide and what do I need to provide?

If our chefs are preparing meals in your home, we will need to ensure that you have basic cookware such as pots, pans, cooking utensils, Tupperware for storage of the meals, and staple ingredients. Anything we need to purchase on your behalf will be billed back to you.

Can I select what day the chef comes to my house or delivers my meals?

We will always try to accommodate a day of the week that works best for you and your family.
